Staffing and Management - Clinical Descision Unit

EPMG recognizes the value of clinical decision units (CDU's) in the evaluation of selected patients in the ambulatory environment. Used effectively, these units speed diagnoses, provide more efficient care, lower patient anxiety, promote patient satisfaction, and maximize the efficiency of resource utilization.

Typically, CDU's deal with such clinical issues as chest pain, abdominal pain, asthma, and transient ischemic attacks (TIA's). A focused, protocol-driven approach to these clinical issues will reduce liability exposure. Our experience in this area enables us to investigate the creation, implementation, and management of clinical decision units.
